It was fall when we moved in.
Cardboard boxes,
Mud and yellow leaves,
Fall.
We put all the fiction in the living room
Magazines under the bed.
We made a mobile
With the shells
From home.
From the place we might get married.

DAVID
I am old like dusty books,
Ancient widsom,
Prayers and melodies
Old.
And I told you
I won’t be forgiving you
After you walked out the door.

I’m gonna rise,
Above the clouds,
And glow.

And the photographs are fading.
